Nordhoff math teacher Shawn Jackson nominated Senior Joseph Gonzalez Rico as the November 2017 Student of the Month. Shawn noted that Joseph, who was his student in Algebra II and Pre-Calculus for two years, has consistently developed his math skills in the Advanced Placement Honors class and as a senior this year he is at the top of his class in Calculus. Joseph plans to major in Chemistry and has applied to a number of California State Universities including UCLA. Joseph was joined by his family at the morning meeting - Mother Linda Rico, Grandmother Gloria Chavez, Sister Marcella Ocampo Rico and Stepfather Cesar Ocampo.
