On a beautiful fall morning November 20th the Rotary Club of Ojai West Floating Classroom hosted 17 first and second graders and nine chaperone/parents from the Ventura Charter School of Arts and Global Education.
The kids and adults were treated to a trip around Lake Casitas to see and experience the wildlife and the beauty of our Lake even at historic low levels!
Many thanks to the docent/organizer Stephanie Midgett, Captain Ed as the guide, and John Haag, Rob Long, C.J. McLeod and the Floating Classroom chief Reggie Wood who make this long term community service project possible.
Commander Reggie is always on the lookout for those who can come on board as:
Lake Contact - arranging for boat trips
Club Rep - on board to host the trip
Cleaning - get the boat ready for the trip
Driver - with training drive the pontoon boat around the lake
Deck Hand - help out with various projects to keep the boat maintained and in good shape.
Next trip is scheduled for Wednesday November 29th with kids and adults from Ojai's Valley Oak Charter School.
