Ashlyn Holland, a junior at Nordhoff High School, was awarded the Rotary Club of Ojai West Student of the Month. She was nominated by her math teacher, Shawn Jackson who described Ashlyn as an impressive math student in his Math 1-4 classes especially because she had to miss many of the classes due to illness. Mr. Jackson described Ashlyn as determined this year. She decided to take two math classes at once – Math three online while enrolled in Math 4 honors. “Despite the challenges, Ashlyn was a top student in Math 4 honors….What I think is even more impressive is that she did not let up and is now a successful Calculus student at Nordhoff.” Ashlyn is also involved in Nordhoff Drama classes and has appeared in musicals as well as participates in the Health Science Academy.
