On Tuesday January 16th the Rotary Club of Ojai West continued a 16 year literacy program tradition of handing out dictionaries to all Ojai Unified School District third graders. This year 19 Rotarians went to 6 OUSD elementary schools and 10 third grade classrooms with 202 dictionaries. A short presentation of Rotary and how to use their new dictionaries was given to enthusiastic classes of children. Many of them have older siblings who also received dictionaries from Rotary. A total of 4,202 dictionaries have been given to 3rd graders in OUSD over the last 16 years of this literacy project started by Rotarian Richard McArthur.
