Rotary Club of Ojai West October 2016 Student of the Month

Nordhoff High School Junior Lizette Estala was the recipient of the October Student of the Month awarded by the Rotary Club of Ojai West.  This monthly award is given to Nordhoff students who are recognized by the teaching staff to be students who have overcome obstacles and are leaders in their classrooms.  Nordhoff teacher Chris Bohney, on the teaching staff at Nordhoff for twenty-two years nominated Lizette who came to Nordhoff one year ago speaking no English and in a few months was taking exams in History and Social Studies in English.  She has worked hard to become fluent in English and is now assisting other students in studying.  Lizette runs on the cross country track team and plants to attend college to become an engineer.
