Rotary Club of Ojai West newest member Beverly Schuberth plants native Oaks in the Ojai Land Conservancy Ventura River Preseve.
Rotary District 5240 Wade Nomura led a joint Ventura and Santa Barbara Rotary Club project to plant trees in the Thomas Fire burn areas. Funding was made available to Clubs in the burn area and the planting happened in Ojai on Thursday April 26th. Fifty native Oaks (Quercus agrifolia) in five gallon containers were purchased with the funding to be planted in the spring in the Ventura River Preserve. Another group of Oaks will be planted in the Fall in other areas where the Thomas Fire burned with the rest of the funding.
Many thanks to Beverly Schuberth and Mike Caldwell our president who were able to be on site with the OVLC crew to help plant.
